Yep. That’s me—window seat upstairs at Lestat’s Hillcrest for Blazing Laptops 2022. My first time as a blazer was in March 2008, the debut Blazing Laptops fundraiser, and I’ve participated every year since. I do it because I believe in San Diego Writers, Ink and what we do to provide a community for all writers, a place where we can practice our craft, take classes, participate in workshops, join a group, attend readings and special events. I love being a part of an organization whose mission inspires me and supports me as a writer and teacher.
I’ve set my 2023 goal: $2000.00! You can help me reach that goal through a contribution in any amount from $5 up to (fill in the blank), it’s up to you! Your generous sponsorship tells me you support me and my writing and the work I do with other writers and within the writing community.
I’m a proud member of the Thursday Writers Blazing Laptops Team (Top Team Fundraising winner multiple times—let’s do it again, Thursday Writers Blazers!) and I'm looking forward to another day of fundraising fun with this lively group of like spirited creators.
Oh, and did I tell you my memoir, When your Heart Says Go, will be released in October? Much of my memoir, from first draft through its many revisions, was written in Blazing Laptops over these many years. Your support helped make that possible. Thank you!
